EMS-BG — Battery-first backup with generator coordination.

Battery and Diesel Generator EMS

Battery-first backup with generator coordination. Short interruptions — the majority of them — never start the engine at all. When an outage does extend beyond battery endurance, the generator runs inside its efficient loading band and directs surplus output to storage, which shortens its own run and cuts fuel within each hour as well as hours overall.

What EMS-BG is

Ingro EMS-BG is an energy management system that sequences battery storage and standby generation on supply failure. The battery responds to every outage first; the generator starts only when the outage outlasts stored energy, and recharges the battery while it runs.

Ingro EMS

the controller

Displacing diesel is the reason most Indian industrial sites buy storage at all. It is also the easiest saving to measure, because it arrives in litres.

What it does for the business

The Outcomes EMS-BG Delivers

The battery responds to every outage first — short interruptions never start the generator.

The generator runs only beyond battery endurance, recharging the battery to shorten its own run.

Fewer running hours at higher loading, with every run logged automatically.

Recorded runtime and fuel data to support right-sizing at the next replacement.

EMS-BG in three lines

  • Battery takes every outage first
  • Generator hours and fuel cut
  • Every engine run logged

Common questions

EMS-BG, Answered

How does a battery reduce diesel consumption at an industrial site?

In two ways. The battery answers every outage first, so short interruptions never start the engine — that removes running hours. When the engine does run, the controller holds it inside its efficient loading band and directs surplus output into storage, which reduces fuel burnt within each hour and shortens the run itself.

Can the EMS start and stop the generator automatically?

Only if you grant it that authority. Start authority is a configuration setting: whether the controller may start and stop the engine, and the power deficit at which it is entitled to do so. Warm-up, cool-down, minimum run time, minimum time off and maximum starts per day are enforced as hard constraints on every decision.

What does the EMS need from the generator controller?

A load setpoint. A generator controller that accepts a load setpoint is the single requirement that carries the most value on the prerequisites schedule — it is what makes reducing fuel within each hour possible, rather than only reducing hours.

Scope of delivery

Four Elements, Quoted as One Item

Every configuration is delivered the same way: the controller installed and commissioned, the app, a monthly report pack for finance, lenders and auditors, and training for the operating team — all included in the delivered price.

1

The controller

Wired, configured and commissioned against your plant, and installed in the plant room. It is the component that operates the site.

2

The operator console

A single-line representation of the actual plant with live power on every feeder, the state of each source, the alarm register, and the endurance available at the load currently being carried.

3

The mobile view

Read-only, for management rather than operations: whether the site is sound, what it has saved, what has occurred and what is scheduled.

4

Reporting and training

The reporting suite, generated and distributed automatically, and instruction for the personnel who will operate the plant.

Runs autonomously

Site control continues with no internet connection — the controller operates the plant from the plant room.

Equipment-agnostic

Integrates any make of inverter, battery, converter or generator. A model not previously encountered is added as configuration.

Expands by licence

Adding an asset is a configuration change, not new hardware.

Four Answers, and We Scope Your Plant

We return a scope of supply, an equipment schedule and an indicative programme, written against the outcomes you set.

What is on site today

Generation, storage, standby generation and the connection, as they stand today.

What is already ordered

Anything ordered or contractually committed; anything still open, we can specify.

The outcomes required

The energy bill, the fuel, continuity of production, or all three, in order of priority.

The utility connection

Remaining, being withdrawn, or never present. This determines how much of the night storage is required to own, and how the plant is sized.
