The Battery Magazine Features Ingro Sims, Built for India's State Tariffs
The Battery Magazine covered the launch of Ingro Sims, the solar and storage sizing platform built around Indian market conditions — where the same equipment can have very different economics in Maharashtra and Haryana because the tariff order differs.
A solar + storage configuration that is optimal in Maharashtra may not be the right answer in Haryana. The equipment may be the same, but the tariff order — and therefore the project economics — can be very different.
That is the gap Ingro Sims was built to address, and this week The Battery Magazine covered the launch. Shivangi Gupta's article gives a clear overview of the platform and why Ingro built it around Indian market conditions, rather than adapting a generic model to fit them.
Why state tariffs change the answer
In India, the economics of a solar-plus-storage project are set as much by the state's tariff order as by the hardware. Time-of-Day bands, the spread between peak and off-peak rates, and how each DISCOM prices consumption all decide how much a battery can earn by shifting energy into expensive hours. A size that pays back well under one state's tariff can be oversized or undersized under another.
Built for the Indian grid, not adapted to it
Generic sizing tools typically start from a model designed elsewhere and bolt local tariffs on afterwards. Ingro Sims takes the opposite approach: Indian tariff structures and market conditions are the starting point, so a sizing recommendation reflects the rules the project will actually operate under.
Thanks
Ingro thanks Shivangi Gupta and The Battery Magazine for featuring Sims.
