The question C&I customers ask most often is simple: how much will a battery actually save me?
The honest answer is that it depends on your tariff, hour by hour. A flat ₹/kWh average cannot tell you, because the entire value of storage lives in the gap between cheap hours and expensive ones, and that gap moves with regulation changes and Tariff Orders.
Time-of-Day tariffs, native to the regulations
Ingro Sims now builds that gap into every model. Time-of-Day (ToD) tariffs are native to the tool and follow the regulations, Tariff Orders and regulatory changes for each state and DISCOM.
How it works
- Pick your state, DISCOM and tariff year. Sims loads the live ToD order, already filled in.
- Reprice your real consumption hour by hour. Sims shows which periods moved and by how much.
- Size against the 24-hour shape. Solar + BESS are sized against your hourly tariff and load profile, not an average.
What it found on an MSEDCL HT-Industrial site
On one MSEDCL HT-Industrial site, the same units repriced 14.6% higher between two tariff orders. Nothing about the plant or its consumption changed; only the order did. Sims shows exactly which periods drove that increase, so the battery size is measured, not guessed.
That is the difference between an average and an hourly model. An average would have shown a higher bill. The hourly view shows where the money moved, and therefore where a battery can earn it back.
