Battery storage · India
A cabinet BESS is a self-contained battery unit, usually from about 50 kWh to a few hundred kWh per cabinet, that sits outside or inside a factory, office, hospital or telecom site. It is the most common form of storage for commercial and industrial (C&I) sites cutting peak demand, reducing diesel use or riding through outages.

A cabinet on its own runs a fixed schedule. At a C&I site the savings come from deciding, minute by minute, when to use solar, the battery, the grid or the diesel set against your tariff and contract demand. Ingro EMS-CI is built for that: one controller across the cabinet, the solar inverters, the DG sets and the grid meter.
Ingro EMS is a made-in-India battery energy management system: one controller on site that runs battery storage, solar, diesel and the grid against your tariff, with a console and reports you can watch on a screen or your phone. It talks to equipment over open protocols such as Modbus TCP/RTU, CAN, IEC 61850 and IEC 60870-5-104, so it is not tied to any one brand on this list.

It depends on what the battery is for. Peak shaving needs enough power to cover the gap between peak load and contract demand for the length of the peak; diesel replacement needs enough energy to carry the critical load through a typical outage. A load profile from the site meter is the starting point.
Most cabinet ranges are modular, so you can add units in parallel. Check the maximum number the supplier supports and whether a new cabinet can be mixed with older ones that have already aged.
Yes, in most cases. The battery is AC-coupled to the same LT bus as the solar inverters, and a controller decides when the battery charges from surplus solar and when it discharges.
