Grid, metering and control · India
Meters are the eyes of an energy site. Multifunction panel meters measure each feeder; grid-connection meters, including ABT meters at larger plants, record what is imported and exported; smart meters let utilities read consumption remotely. The companies below make energy meters in India.

Every decision an EMS makes starts with a meter reading. Ingro EMS reads the grid, solar, DG and load meters on site over Modbus, and uses the grid meter as the reference for export limits and contract demand.
Ingro EMS is a made-in-India battery energy management system: one controller on site that runs battery storage, solar, diesel and the grid against your tariff, with a console and reports you can watch on a screen or your phone. It talks to equipment over open protocols such as Modbus TCP/RTU, CAN, IEC 61850 and IEC 60870-5-104, so it is not tied to any one brand on this list.

An Availability Based Tariff meter records energy in 15-minute blocks for scheduling and settlement. It is used at generating stations and larger open access consumers.
A multifunction meter at the grid connection that reports power quickly, typically once a second or faster, over Modbus. The controller uses it to hold the inverters back before power flows out.
